MAT Club Logo
This is a logo created for the MiraCosta College Media Arts and Technologies Club (MAT Club). Early in the 2023 Fall semester the club held a competition to create the club's logo. All members came up with some really fun and creative designs, but in the end, the majority of the club’s members chose my design.
Inspiration for this was the cool art you would see when taking the train as you approach Downtown LA's Union Station. The initial direction was going to be wild; using design elements and/or icons of the design software we use. This would have been a bit too much, but it would have been a cool animated graphic. After a few more sketches, I decided on something more chunky and blocky for the letter design.
A grid system was used for recreating the letters on the computer. The words were then stacked on top of each other to make the overall design square in shape, instead of a long wide graphic. I made some final adjustments after some feedback from our club advisor, thank you Professor Choi, and the logo was done. To take the design a little further, I decided to play with various color palettes and treatments.
I am happy that the logo will be used for the following school year, and maybe longer. T-shirts were also made, they turned out awesome.
